Our Mission

Dawne Young is an activist and a freedom fighter for people's rights in and out of the courtroom. Her passion is to fight systems that continually use their privilege to prosecute our community. She truly began her advocacy journey becoming steeped in the defending her sons freedom, subsequently supporting directly impacted people to facilitate and advocate for themselves promoting positive change. Under her guidance, STEP Nation Inc thrives through impactful projects like "The Dream Project," bringing hope through resources, "Christmas on the Hill" spreading joy, and "Patches for Pain" offering healing. Dawne's firm belief in people's potential drives her transformative leadership, making her a symbol of justice and compassion.

Tracy Mack is a deeply embedded community member that holds a business degree and has more than 20 years’ in the financial industry. Her extensive background in business, multicultural marketing and invoicing makes her the brainchild behind making sure all administrative details are addressed and the organization runs smoothly. She is the creator and founder of the Financial Lab. She also co founded the community Love fund model and participatory budgeting coalition. 

She was born a community organizer out of circumstances not choice. She had to fight this fight as a teenager from the despair caused to her family from the justice system. 

Tracy was raised by a strong mother who instilled a mindset of get it done no matter what resources you have as well as passing along unlimited creativity. 

 Mikey Myles is our esteemed Community Development Director. With an impressive two-decade career as a carpenter, Mikey has consistently championed gender diversity within the construction industry. As the Founder of "Sisters at Work Inc," a non-profit organization, she has empowered numerous young women in the greater Boston area, equipping them with the necessary skills for both non-traditional and traditional careers. 

Additionally, Mikey serves as a dedicated community advocate and is a valued member of the bargaining committee for the SEIU 1199 PCA Union Workers.

Misty Noiles is a Katherine Gibbs alumni,
a retired mother of 3 and grandmother of 8. She has experience as a medical secretary  and kitchen designer. Her passions are photography, dancing, reading and designing.   she loves entertaining with family and friends  any chance possible. she is a  proud member of New Life Christian Church Ministries.

SHE ADVOCATES FOR EQUALITY

Athena Hadden is currently the Central MA Regional Coordinator for Massachusetts Organization for Addiction Recovery (MOAR). 

Prior to working with MOAR she was the Treatment Coordinator for Region 10 PIHP serving the lower thumb area of Michigan and the Director of Spectrum Health System’s Everyday Miracles Peer Recovery Center in Worcester, MA. 

Aamariana Young is a young lady with a mission for change. she has knowledge in participatory defense, court watch and   advocacy work. She is currently a Senior at Howard University majoring in Political Science with a minor in sociology. She plans on continuing her studies to attend law school becoming an agent of change for those in her community facing injustice from the SCHOOL to PRISON PIPELINE. 

Kerrie Jackson has worked in the criminal justice arena for over 20 years. She is a sessions clerk for the state of Massachusetts where she grew up, seeing disparities in the system.  She is now an advocates for change.

Marilyn Mack served 32 years with the Mass Bay Transit Authority as a trolley and bus operator, office assistant, customer service agent and retired as an inspector.  She is the matriarch of her family and a rock in the community. She comes with a array of knowledge and experience of over 40 years in youth services, education tools and a local community advocate. 

Ayanna Miskel has a passion to help those within her community, advocating for resources to improve health and wellness. After graduating with a BA in sociology and philosophy at U Mass Boston, she decided to start her own business, Sweet Essentials boutique and beauty bar. Ayanna believes her establishment not only brings women together within the community, but enforces the acknowledgment of self-care and how important it is.

Roxann Hymon is a Christian minister, mother of 3, a grandmother, a breakthrough coach, a spiritual mentor and an entrepreneur. For over 18 years, she served as an ordained pastor and founder of  Spirit and Truth Ministries Inc. She is a member of Faith Ministers Alliance and Eagle Mountain International Church. She has participated in Mike Barbers Prison Ministry in Houston Texas.  She is a published author and has previously produced and hosted a weekly TV broadcast. She believes justice is extremely important and that everyone should have equal rights under the law. 

Jude Glaubman is a freedom fighter on many fronts of the liberation struggle. Rooted in a belief that radical love and creative resistance will set us free, she is a cultural worker, community organizer and advocate for dignity, justice and self-determination. National Lawyers Guild; New Beginnings Reentry Services; Palestine BDS; Water and Land Protector; Mass Bail Fund; art, Daughter Rosa Booth and Partner Lor Holmes, Raised in Canada. 

Tatianna Rodriguez, For many years Tatiana has served as a community activist and youth advocate for underserved communities of color. She is the founder of a grass root organization called "Family Matters 1st" who seeks to gather voices of people that have been directly impacted by The Family Regulation Systems. She is a domestic violence survivor and fights fiercely for families in distress. Mother to Zion.
